Ada Township
Ada Township was founded in 1821 where the Grand and Thornapple Rivers meet in Western Michigan and became the first settlement in Kent County.

Today, the Township Board has voted and purchased for the residents Park and Open Space property of over 400 acres with more then 300 acres of Riverfront property for public use. The Township offers various free activities to the public including a fireworks display, Arts in Ada, the Santa Claus parade and more.

Cascade Township
Cascade Charter Township is situated in the southeastern section of Kent County, approximately 10 miles southeast of Grand Rapids. One of the most defining features of the Township is the Thornapple River, which divides the Township into east and west halves. Originally a part of Ada Township, Cascade sought separation in 1848.
